Using Information We Collect
At Hobby Express, we always want to provide you with the best possible shopping experience and to fulfill your orders exactly as you've requested. In order to do this, we collect information that allows us to:

  • Process and track your order
  • Provide the services you request
  • Contact you about the status of an order
  • Send you catalogs or promotional offers we believe will be of interest to you
  • Send you the Hobby Express Email Newsletter or other email
  • Identify your product and service preferences
  • Customize our communications to you
  • Provide information concerning product recalls or products you have purchased
  • Improve our merchandise selection and customer service

Information We Share with Others and Your Privacy Rights
We contract with other companies to provide certain services, including credit card processing, shipping, name and address verification, email distribution, market research and promotions management. We provide these companies with only the information they need to perform their services and work closely with them to ensure that your privacy is respected and protected.


Solicitations for personal information
We NEVER ask for you to email us your credit card number or other personal information. Do NOT reply to such a request if you receive one. It is NOT from HobbyExpress! However, we may require you to fax a copy of your credit card for verification and security purposes.


We use cookies to identify you when you place an order. These have your name and address and your shipping address. We may add additional information to these cookies in the future and if we do we will list the added information in this space.

Please allow emails from "[email protected]" in your Spam Filter software. This is how we automatically acknowledge your order and let you know when your order has shipped.

Although we will try to get back to you as soon as possible, certain technical questions may require our team to research for the answer and we ask that you give us 24-48 hours before expecting a response.



All orders received by 11:00 AM (Central Standard Time) Monday-Friday will ship the same day. We use the US Postal service and FedEx. If you need extra fast shipping such as Next Day, or 2-day service, please choose the desired method when ordering. These services may be limited depending on your service area. Holidays and weekends will delay delivery. Please note that Next Day delivery chosen on a Friday will result in delivery on Monday.


WHERE: Only orders in the contiguous 48 United States may qualify for free shipping.
ORDER TOTAL: Orders must exceed $149* in value that will be charged to the customer (before S&H and taxes) to qualify.

Shipping charges are calculated based on the total weight of your order. Oversized or heavy items or extremely large orders will incur extra fees. Small items will therefore receive reduced rates.


International shipments are subject to local taxes, customs, and duties and/or additional charges such as brokerage fees. These charges are the sole responsibility of the buyer. If at any time Hobby Express is billed for these charges, Hobby Express will in turn bill the buyer in the same manner the original order was billed.

Some items are restricted from shipping internationally. In the event an item cannot be shipped, a sales representative will contact the customer directly

Expedited services only guarantee delivery to the importing country border—delays as a result of customs are not the responsibility of Hobby Express.

Orders placed with international credit cards can only be shipped to the international billing address associated with the credit card.

Here is a short list of countries that won't be open for internatinal shipping:

Afghanistan, Benin, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Colombia, Comoros, Cuba, Falkland Islands, Ghana, Greece, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lao People's Republic, Lebanon, Liberia, Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, North Korea, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic, Turkey, United Arab Emirates. Syria


A backordered item is an item that we normally carry in stock, but which is currently out of stock. When we put an item on backorder to you, we will automatically ship the item to you (via Standard Ground) when we receive the item back into our stock.


Backordered items to US addresses will be shipped via Standard Ground unless you specifically request otherwise, even if the original order was shipped via Air.


For retail orders to be shipped to the 50 states of the USA: There are no additional shipping charges when your backordered items are shipped unless you request Air shipment.


For orders to be shipped out of the USA: You will have to pay the actual shipping charges for the shipment of any backordered items. We may cancel your backorder if we are unable to contact you by E-mail to ask you to authorize the shipping charges for the backordered items.


Online "In Stock" status and estimated arrival dates are updated nightly. If an item sells out during the day, it will still show "In Stock" until the nightly update.



We accept: Visa, MasterCard, and Discover credit cards.


Restocking Fees for Returns
Hobby Express will assess a 15% restocking fee for all returned merchandise, provided it is unopened and in perfect retail condition, and ready for subsequent resale.

Items returned that are not in retail condition may be rejected and sent back to you, postage COD, or, at the exclusive option of Hobby Express, may be assessed a 50% restocking fee.

Refunds typically take 3-5 business days, from the date of issue, to show up on your account. We will give no refunds nor credits for returns that arrive more than 30 days from the date of our shipment to you.


Damaged During Shipping
It is the customer's responsibility to report any damages to their product that incurred during shipping within 14 Business Days* of confirmed delivery of their order.

Items damaged during shipment will be refunded OR resent (depending on availability) following meeting the requirements to process the claim with the carrier.In order to get proper credit, merchandise that is damaged as a result of shipping should never be returned without calling us first. It is very important to save ALL packing materials and paperwork, as well as the damaged product. Call us at 615-373-1444 and we'll give you further instructions. A representative of the shipping company must see the packaging and pick up the product.

*Customers who do not report product as damaged within 14 Business Days of the order being confirmed as delivered have accepted responsibility for the condition of the product they have ordered and acknowledge the product to be acceptable.


Orders That Have Received FREE SHIPPING
Orders that have qualified for free shipping forefeit this benefit upon returning their product for any reason other than the product being defective.

In these situations, the original shipping cost incurred to deliver the product to the customer will be charged back against the value of the return.

Per manufacturer's requirements, ALL software is NOT returnable if the seal on the box has been broken. Please carefully check system requirements before ordering.

For over 45 years, we’ve been making our customers happy.While we hope that you’ll love the products
you purchase from us, we know sometimes this doesn’t happen. In most cases (except for defective or
damaged merchandise), you can simply follow the instructions below and fill out our Return Form.We’ll
process your return as quickly as possible, in the order we receive it. By following these easy
instructions, you’ll help us give you the best service possible.



Fill out the form on the reverse side, or go online to www.hobbyexpress.com, click “Support” and send us
an email.Write in the quantity, stock number, description and a return code (see table) for the product(s)
you are returning. If you are returning a DEFECTIVE item, please provide a detailed description of the
product defect. All other merchandise returned must be in new, re-saleable condition. Please note that
non-defective merchandise returned may be subject to a 15% restocking fee.

If you have a product that is defective right out of the box, it can usually be repaired or replaced at no
charge. HOWEVER some manufacturers insist on dealing directly with you in these situations. Please
see your product manual, check on our website at www.hobbyexpress.com/support.htm or call our
Customer Service representatives at 615-373-1444 to find out if your product is one of these. If it is not,
please follow the instructions above.

Tell us how you want us to handle your return credit.
- If you wish to exchange the returned product for another product, list the quantity, stock number,
description and price of the additional products in the space provided. Be sure to tell us how you’d like
to pay for any additional charges, if there is a difference in price.When an order that earned a discount
or used a promotional coupon is returned, the remaining balance is reviewed. If the order no longer
qualifies for the discount, it will be subject to a chargeback to your account.
-If you wish to order more items, include the handling and shipping fee for your location.

For your own protection, we advise that you insure your package but note that we do not reimburse
for insurance or return shipping.

We guarantee our product to be free from defect for 30 days after the date of purchase. If you find that an item you purchased from us is defective within that 30 day period, we will replace it at no charge to you. If the item has a manufacturer's warranty within the USA, please send it to them. This includes but is not limited to Hitec products (http://www.hitecrcd.com/contact).

If a package that has obviously been damaged during shipment is delivered to your door, SIGN for it and note above your signature the word "damaged" (or "open" if the box was broken open), and request that the delivering company make an inspection.


If the damage during shipment was concealed, please notify the delivering carrier and call the Hobby Express claim department when you discover the damage. You must keep the damaged carton until the shipment has been inspected by the carrier.


Do not return the merchandise yourself. Hobby Express will process a claim and tell you exactly what to do next.
